Last week Mr. Creativity informed me that he was going to become a professional diablo-er. He said it would take about a week. Well this is what it looks like so far.
He got a cheap diablo for Christmas and then used his own money to buy this one, which has a ball bearing. When I'm not taping him he can actually throw it in the air and catch it. I think the camera sends out vibes that make it impossible for him to catch it. He really is getting good, but I'm not sure I'd call him a professional yet.

How's Smarty?
I don't talk to Smarty nearly as often as I should. And I update how she's doing on here even less. She's having a better semester, academic wise, at school. I don't think it's easy for her, but she is keeping up. Last week she started a babysitting job. She works two mornings (7-12:30) a week, so it gives her a little money and doesn't interfere with her school schedule.
Last night she said that she interviewed for a summer camp job in Missouri. I guess if she gets that then we won't see much of her next summer. It is crazy how you have this child and you are with them almost 24/7 for eighteen years, and then they are gone. She is precious and a good girl and I miss her like crazy!

How to Build a Planet by Kansas Bible Company (KBC)
This is a video featuring a band that one of my cousins is in. You may or may not have already seen this. They are currently in Nashville and I'm hoping that they can come to Chattanooga sometime so we can see them live. Enjoy!

Improvements, No Improvements, and Stern Instructions
Here are a bunch of house pictures. Hubby has installed our full-sized wall oven under the stovetop. You can compare it to the picture I had on here a couple of days ago, when there was a cabinet under the stovetop.
This was necessary since the brand-new oven that was in the house was tiny!
Here you can see how well a cookie sheet fit inside. It was a perfect square, so you couldn't just turn the pan sideways to make it fit.
So Hubby has had a project and is feeling satisfied. But I have yet to tackle anything. Here is our front foyer. You can see the ugly wood trim that separates the first and second stories.
Here is a close-up of the trim and wallpaper. I want to take out the trim and paint over the wallpaper. Before you start screaming that the wallpaper needs to be taken down, let me tell you that all the wallpaper in the house has been painted over. That makes it impossible to remove. Since it is done that way in the rest of the house, I might as well do the easy thing and just paint over it as well.
This morning Hubby gave me stern instructions NOT to begin this project. He is done with projects for the time being. People, there is a hammer and crow bar in the garage just itching to get to work on that trim. Hubby won't be home for eight hours and it's going to be very hard to restrain myself!

A Cleaning Machine
Mr. C absolutely loves the central vac in our new house. He has vacuumed for several hours. He has to finish his homework before he can vacuum.
A note about the photo. I used my new camera (Canon EOS Rebel T3) to take this, but I still haven't learned how to use it properly. I'm going to start a photography class in February, so hopefully the pictures will get better. I'm also starting my next education class tomorrow, so I'm keeping busy, busy, busy!

Kitchen: Check
It doesn't feel like home until you can skip the drive thru and cook your own meals |
Over the weekend the kids really helped with all the cleaning. And Young Skywalker came up for a day and helped Hubby move lots of heavy stuff from the apartment to the house. Hubby was sore at the end of the day, but M said YS felt fine, and had a blast. Big difference between 40 years old and 16 years old.
One of the most exciting things about the house is how close it is to the school. It used to take 25 minutes to get there, but today we made it in 10!!!

Do What You Love
Random school picture |
We will be moving stuff from the apartment to the house from now until the hired movers come on Tuesday. We will probably have sketchy internet access for a few days too, but I'll still have scheduled posts on the Chattanooga blog. So much to do!

Cousins, Cousins, and More Cousins
We did see grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, and parents as well. But by and large we saw lots of cousins in Indiana!
*If you don't want to be "seen" on here, drop me a comment and I'll blur you out.
